Cofdar, under the umbrella of Madar Al-Tahawul, participated in the Saudi Business Delegation that traveled to Addis Ababa from November 17 to 19, 2025 to attend the Saudi Ethiopian Business Forum 2025. The forum represents an important platform for strengthening economic partnerships between the two countries and opening new opportunities for trade and investment, particularly in the rapidly growing coffee sector in Saudi Arabia.
Cofdar’s participation reflects the Kingdom’s representation in one of the most significant global origins for coffee production. Mr. Mohammed Al Zahrani, Business Director, attended the forum on behalf of Cofdar and held a series of direct meetings with participating Ethiopian companies. These engagements aimed to broaden the company’s international network and explore new opportunities in coffee trade and supply chain development.
This participation aligns with the strategic direction of the Saudi leadership to reinforce international economic relations and empower the Saudi private sector to expand globally and explore high value markets, especially amid the remarkable growth of the coffee sector in the Kingdom.
Mr. Bandar Alotaibi, Member of the Board at Madar Al Tahawul, expressed his appreciation to the Saudi Ethiopian Business Council for its outstanding organization and coordination, praising the leadership of HE Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Ajmi, Chairman of the Council, and HE Omar bin Abdullah Al Kharashi, Vice Chairman, and extending his thanks to the Secretary General Mr. Aedh Al Wadaei for his continuous support and cooperation.
Mr. Alotaibi emphasized that Cofdar’s participation reflects the company’s commitment to strengthening its international presence and building strong partnerships with key stakeholders in Ethiopia. He noted that the forum served as an important opportunity for direct engagement, knowledge exchange, and advancing mutual cooperation in the coffee sector.
He concluded by stating that Cofdar looks forward to building long term partnerships between the two countries, noting that several agreements were discussed during the visit along with future cooperation opportunities that serve both the Saudi and Ethiopian markets and enhance integration across the coffee supply chain.
